What is Paganism?
Paganism encompasses diverse spiritual traditions that often focus on nature, multiple deities, and ancient practices. Modern paganism includes both reconstructed historical practices and new spiritual paths. There’s no single “right way” to be pagan – your journey is personal.
Starting Your Journey
Step 1: Self-Reflection
Take time to explore your inner landscape. Ask yourself these questions to open up your mind to see what specific paths you are drawn to.
Also remember to Keep a journal of your thoughts and feelings during this exploration phase.
- What specifically draws you to paganism?
- Which natural elements speak to you? (Fire, Water, Earth, Air)
- Do you feel pulled toward specific cultures, myths, or traditions?
- What are your core spiritual beliefs and values?
- How do you best connect with the divine?
Step 2: Research Different Paths

Trust your intuition while maintaining healthy skepticism. Each step of your journey adds to your understanding, whether it leads you deeper into a tradition or helps you realize what doesn’t resonate with you.
Watch for Red Flags:
- Groups requiring significant fees
- Claims of exclusive truth
- Pressure tactics
- Disrespect toward other paths
- Lack of transparency
- Required purchases
